THE FOUNDER
About Derrick L. Green
Reverend Derrick L. Green earned his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University-Newark and obtained his Master of Public Management from the University of Maryland, School of Public Policy. In January 2018, Reverend Green was appointed to the office of Senior Advisor for Diversity, Faith, Urban and Regional Growth for New Jersey Governor Phil D Murphy. In this role, Reverend Green works to implement public policy that will help all people. Reverend Green led 2 successful campaign teams and operations, delivering ninety-four per cent of the African American vote for Governor Phil Murphy in 2017 and 2021. He is an ordained Elder in the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
His unprecedented and unconventional work with legislators has led to several state positions. He has advised Heads of state, Senators, Governors, Mayors, County Executives and countless other elected officials and community leaders. Reverend Green was a key strategists in the Moore for Maryland gubernatorial campaign resulting in the election of Wes Moore. In 2000, Reverend Green served as Projects Director to United States Senator Jon S Corzine. From 2002-2006 Reverend Green served as deputy chief of staff / political director coordinating the local, state and federal legislative strategies for Prince George County and was overwhelmingly elected to a four-year term on the democratic central committee in Prince George County Maryland. From 2000 until present Reverend Green has been responsible for getting Democrats elected statewide in Maryland and New Jersey.
His international work is unprecedented. He has held key leadership positions with worldwide leaders. Reverend Green was the chief strategist and campaign manager for Team Unity which became the ruling party in St. Kitts and Nieves in 2006. Reverend Green’s unity strategy also brought victory to the One Bermuda alliance in 2012.
Reverend Green is a member of the 100 Black Men of Washington D.C and vicinity and the NAACP. He also founded the Interfaith Action Movement in 2020. Reverend Green is the recipient of numerous awards including the NJ National Action Network/Jumpstart award and the keeping the Dream-Alive Making a Difference. He was inducted into the Rutgers University, African American, Alumni Hall of Fame in 2018. In 2019, he received an award from the South Jersey Journal, as one of the most influential African American in the state of New Jersey.
Reverend Green was an Adjunct Professor in the Department of History and Political Science at Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park Maryland. He also sits on the boards of the Capital Philharmonic, the New State Bank Implementation and Amistad Commission board.
